Released on 18th April 2013 Two major occasions in West Bromwich this week-end are expected to attract a large number of individuals to observe St Georgeas Day. On Saturday (20 April) medieval disarray can take within the Manor House Museum in Hall Green Road for a household fun day from 11am-3pm. Readers can see the Jester juggling with fire, wonder at the medieval magician, have a go on the bouncy castle and scale the climbing wall. There's also birds of prey, walking minstrels, face painting and crafts. Admission is free, with a little charge for a few activities. On Sunday (21 April), there is a celebration and family function organised by the Stone Cross St George team. The parade, which is in its 15th year, begins at 10am from Westminster Road in Stone Cross at the junction with Marsh Lane and finishes in Dartmouth Park with a family event including re-enactments, archery, live music, stalls and substantially more. The celebration will undoubtedly be supported by the Royal British Legion's bike part, scooter clubs and veterans - led by a carriage carrying Miss Tipton and Georgie the Dragon. Road closures are will be set up as the parade moves. The celebration is expected to arrive at Dartmouth Park at around 11.45am with activity occurring during the day. Admission is free. Sandwell Council chief Councillor Darren Cooper said he expected everybody enjoyed the St George's weekend. "The activities will attract a large number of people and I hope the elements will work for both days and everyone has an excellent time," he added.
