First Bayern Munich, today Borussia Dortmund. Barcelona fell on Tuesday; the next day Real Madrid fell in a manner so similar, so extensive, as to further fuel recommendations that the European balance of power has moved north. For an additional successive night a Spanish giant conceded four objectives in Germany. Madrid at least won an away target, giving them the kind of desire for the next leg that Barcelona were rejected, but an amazing four-goal show from Robert Lewandowski did for them. Even his simplest target, a punishment, was taken with the sort of authority that stunned. Madrid, like Barcelona the night before, could have several complaints: this Dortmund victory was richly deserved.
