True Madrid surpass Manchester United in football rich record - Yahoo! Eurosport UK (weblog)

The whole of Europe was transfixed when Real Madrid went up against Manchester United in the Champions League last month. True arrived winners of that encounter, perfectly outplaying United - and now the Spanish leaders have picked up another major victory over their Mancunian rivals. That is because Real have now stolen Manchester United's top spot in the Forbes listing of the world's best football teams. United had placed leading spot since organization expert Forbes started compiling the list in 2004, but have now been overtaken for the very first time by the Madrid leaders. Barcelona have been in third place and Arsenal last in front of Bayern Munich in sixth place. The Premier League shows its economic muscle with seven clubs in the utmost effective 20; the Bundesliga and Serie A equally have four sides; Spain has only Real Madrid and Barcelona; France also two; and Brazil has one. True Madrid are valued at A2.15 billion, making the Spanish club the absolute most valuable sports franchise in the planet, with United perhaps not far behind on A2.07bn. Barcelona, on A1.7bn, are the third most valuable sports club in the world - the New York Yankees are the biggest non-football team at A1.5bn, just in front of the Dallas Cowboys at A1.4bn. Forbes said in a "This is the first-time since Forbes began valuing football clubs in 2004 that Manchester United isn't number one on the record. "Real Madrid has been consistently offering the highest earnings of any basketball team in the planet, despite a rigorous economic melt down in Spain. With stars like Cristiano Ronaldo on the message, and coach Jose Mourinho on the seat, Real Madrid has flourished underneath the authority of billionaire leader Florentino Perez. "According to this year's baseball appraisals, the top 20 teams are worth on average $968 million (A634m), a rise of 26% over last year. "Forbes' staff values are business values (equity plus debt) that are based on multiples of income that clubs win from television, premium seating, press, accreditation, product and concessions." Mark Beckham still tops the set of highest-earning people with profits of A33m, A29m of which originated from endorsements.
