Stoke City vs. Manchester United: Final report 0-2; United win snoozer - SB Nation

How do you produce a match between Manchester United and Stoke City really boring? Well, ok, having a between Manchester United and Stoke City means you are down to a good start; the putative winners scoring a dull target in the last minute means you have all the pieces set up for a snoozer. Jordan Carrick got issues stopped once the Potters uncharacteristically failed to cope with a corner, allowing the ball to fall to the midfielder's feet from point blank range. Asmir Begovic was left absolutely stuck as the picture was stabbed house, while everybody else seeing realized with their terror that the game was planning to descend in to utter, utter nothingness. And so that it was. Stoke pushed up, United used them from increasing. The readers attacked halfheartedly, Ryan Shawcross started Javier Hernandez. Jonathan Walters did some silly things. The wind did some silly things. Robin van Persie provided the game's only semi-compelling moment when he won and obtained a penalty. Baseball includes a lot to suggest it, but this fit was utter dreck. There's not even a real title battle to help keep this interesting. Follow @SBNationSoccer on Facebook
