Cardinals LB Daryl Washington Reportedly Suspended for Substance Violation

Hopeful to atone for their nightmarish finish to the 2012 season, the Arizona Cardinals will be without arguably their best defensive player for the first quarter of next year.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the NFL announced Wednesday that Cardinals linebacker Daryl Washington has been suspended for the first four games of 2013 for a violation of the league's substance abuse policy:

Heading into his fourth NFL season, Washington is coming off a breakout campaign in 2012. He finished with 134 tackles and nine sacks en route to making his first Pro Bowl appearance and being named a second-team All-Pro.
