After 35 minutes on Saturday, Bolton Wanderers observed themselves 2-0 down in a must-win match at home to Blackpool. The starting lineup that Dougie Freedman put out raised issues from the fans because the three changes, some essential, the others not, weren't what was expected. Bernard Ream started the match ahead of David Wheater following Craig Dawson's return to West Bromwich Albion. Wheater had only performed quick replacement minutes following a get back from the leg injury while Tim Ream had become ever-present on the seat and had started several right fits in front of Dawson's arrival. John Hall was released for Josh Vela and played on the wing, moving Chris Eagles in to the center, just behind Craig Davies, the solitary striker. Davies was there as opposed to the Cardiff City match had been started by Marvin Sordell, who. Sordell had been largely ineffective against Cardiff however, not each of that was his own as assistance going forward was lacking to say minimal doing. Two minutes after their second goal was scored by Blackpool, it'd become increasingly clear that the eleven men on the pitch weren't working well together and Dougie Freedman admitted his mistake. On the 37 second mark, Freedman launched Sordell, taking out Rob Hall, and changing the overall game. The drive was suddenly found by wanderers and in first-half extra time, Chris Eagles and Craig Davies won to level issues. Talking to the Bolton News following the match, Dougie Freedman elaborated on the selection changes: and caught by his starting alternatives "They managed midfield and of late, especially in the home, if we will get two within and our top four on the ball a little faster then perhaps we can hurt them," he explained. "But it backfired on us. Some individuals can not act on data which means you have to change it and maybe make it more simple. "It was an arduous day but we maintained going for the win. We called them right back which was credit to us after being 2-0 down. We could easily have quit. But our heart got us back the overall game and we had a few chances. "Then you get the news from one other end which is difficult to take." Bolton Wanderers would eventually miss out on the play-offs because of a goal from Anthony Knockaert (into an net) on goal difference alone.
