Mario Williams Suing Former FiancAe over 10-Carat Wedding Ring

Buffalo Bills defensive end Mario Williams could be entering the 2nd year of a, $96 million agreement in 2013, but at this time, he's far more worried about $785,000. According to The Buffalo News' Dan Herbeck, Williams has filed a lawsuit against his ex-fiancAe, Erin Marzouki, in Houston'sAHarris County CourtAto obtain a 10-carat gemstone he gave to her when suggesting. Williams alleges in his lawsuit that Marzouki only employed him for his money and never wanted to marry him. a( Marzouki) never intended to marry (Williams) and used the connection as a method to access (Williamsa) money and get gifts,a said the suit (per the Houston Chronicle). The suit also alleges that Williams and Marzouki had a contract in position that if the proposal were called off, she would return the ring. Marzouki apparently called off the wedding in January after getting the ring in February 2012. From a legal sense, Texas is just a no-fault state for presents like engagement rings. That means the person giving the ring is officially permitted to require its returnAaon breach of the marriage proposal by the donee,a per Herbeck. Williams' attorneys observed that the Bills defensive end includes a "right to recovery" in relation to the high priced bit of jewelry. While Williams is obviously concerned first and foremost with getting his ring straight back, the reaction elsewhere about this tale was about the stone rock's extortionate cost. ESPN's Darren Rovell observed that Williams spent three % of initial assured money Buffalo gave him on that ring: CBS Sports' Doug Gottlieb was baffled by Williams sticking with a concept usually reserved for more modest-earning families: If that was not enough, Williams' suit also alleges Marzouki went up $108,000 on an American Express bank card and that he spent another $230,000 on her in other items. Even if Williams is unable to recover the ring, all is not lost financially for the 28-year-old. He is due a base salary of $6.5 million for 2013 and is under contract for much more exorbitant incomes in the years ahead. Last season was finished by a two-time Pro Bowler, Williams with 46 fights and 10.5 sacks, whilst the Bills went 6-10. There's no word from Marzouki or her lawyers concerning the case.
