Martin Jol positiioned for crunch talks but Fulham say he'll remain - Evening Standard.

Fulham expect Martin Jol to remain in charge next year or so despite recent poor mode and speculation linking Gus Poyet while using the managerial position at Craven Pad.

Reports this week indicated Fulham would review Jol's position come july 1st following a run of five straight defeats that saw them narrowly fail to see relegation.

Fulham, who conclusion their season at Swansea at Sunday, have taken only one point from a possible 21 within the Premier League.

Poyet emerged being contender to take across but a Fulham base says Jol, who agreed a contract extension last October and keep him at the clb until 2014, is lodging.

There are still issues over whether Jol believes bigger the financial backing to your expected overhaul of his squad this summer. The 57-year-old will hold talks with chief executive Alistair Mackintosh and the board to talk about plans for next season.

Ten of Fulham's team, including goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer, are out of get this summer and a lot of loanees are expected to be able to leave.

Jol is confident from keeping key players such as Dimitar Berbatov but is reportedly frustrated at a lack of backing in the transfer market throughout the last two windows.

Jol, which will want assurances over that club's ambitions, said the other day: "If you lose ten or eight players surely you need five and also six [to come in]. With any luck, you get players in who may be good and strengthen you and me. If not you have trouble.

"Last year I thought there were only one or two pieces left of this puzzle. And then Mousa Dembele positioned, then Clint Dempsey. Danny Murphy was the identical. You have to be creative and that is good for the forseeable future but in the longer term it is not what you want. "
