Ohio State Football: Meyer Simply State of Georgia meant for 2014 Recruiting Class.

For you will find many past head coaches with Ohio State, priority Zero. 1 was finding the way to keep Big Ten schools—and other elite programs in the country—from raiding the "Buckeye State" of its top high school graduation talent.

Famed coaches like Woody Hayes and additionally Jim Tressel consistently observed on Ohio to fill most of the Buckeyes' recruiting needs, and with its rich tradition of great school football, that certainly wasn't a bad move.

That's not saying the Buckeyes are ignoring their state. In reality, 26 of the Buckeyes' 50 commitments throughout the last two recruiting classes played their school football in Ohio (16 within 2012, 10 in 2013).

This recent trend for Meyer in addition to his coaching staff, despite the fact that, is giving the Buckeyes a lot more southern feel.

Along with the talent Georgia is providing in 2014, it will not be a surprise that Meyer is tossing his (and Ohio State's) hat inside mix.

The two Georgia linebackers Ohio State available last week—Kirk Tucker and Detric Dukes, both 3-star recruits—joined this 20 other Peach Express prospects the Buckeyes previously offered.

Featured in that group is a number Ohio State's top recruiting targets. Raekwon McMillan, a good 5-star linebacker, currently has the Buckeyes others in terms of his list. Four-star wide receiver Demarre Kitt even offers Ohio State on their short list, while 4-star prospects like athlete Myles Autry and quarterback Deshaun Watson are receiving a plethora of attention from the Buckeyes.

Recruiting states in your SEC footprint makes a lot of sense for Meyer. Not only does he have lots of experience doing so out of his days at Fl (having strong relationships with twelfth grade coaches is a big section of recruiting), but Meyer knows that in case the Buckeyes will compete with the SECURITIES AND EXCHANGE COMMISSION'S for national championships, they have to go head-to-head with those teams on the recruiting trail.

Looking again at Ohio State's 2013 sales pitching class, Meyer's top-rated recruit—5-star essential safety Vonn Bell out of Rossville, Ga, —chose your Buckeyes over Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Florida and a host of other SEC schools.
