Poulter, Mahan on collision course at Match Play

MARANA, Ariz. (AP) a The stars are gone from the Match Play Championship. Still remaining are Ian Poulter and Hunter Mahan, the very best in match play throughout the last couple of years. Poulter added to his status as one challenging buyer Saturday when he beat Steve Stricker with one large putt after yet another, raising his report in match play to 19-3-2 during the last four years. Mahan outlasted U.S. Available winner Webb Simpson in 18 holes, leaving him two matches far from joining Padraig Harrington as the only repeat winners of the World Golf Championship. Mahan moved 151 pockets at Dove Mountain without following. They meet in the semifinals Sunday morning. Matt Kuchar had no difficulty against Robert Garrigus. He plays in the semifinal against Jason Day, who beat Graeme McDowell.
