Rex Ryan: Jets maybe not actively clinging Revis

PHOENIX (AP) a' Rex Ryan is similar to every coach: He doesn't wish to see his best player leave. Yet whilst Ryan was saying Tuesday that the New York Jets are not actively pursuing a business of Darrelle Revis, he appeared ready to enter the 2013 period without his star cornerback. Ryan said it's not really a foregone conclusion the Jets will offer Revis, who's unhappy with his contract and apparently has been the subject of discussion with several clubs, lately Tampa Bay. But Ryan appreciates any group may listen if still another membership calls about buying any player. "''I can coach who's here," Ryan said. "On opening time we'll see who that is." Revis missed nearly all of last time with a left leg damage, however when healthier is recognized as the greatest cornerback in the league. A $1 million roster bonus was earned by him on Saturday. If he needs Revis to be always a member of the Jets this season Ryan didn't say. Revis' contract will cost the Jets $6 million over all if he remains on the roster. Along with the benefit he got the other day, he has two more $1 million bonuses due before preseason begins. His base pay is $3 million. "I always need all of our people on our team, and sometimes that takes place and sometimes it will not," Ryan said. "It doesn't always occur, I have learned that. I always have a commitment to your men I have taught. "When the very first business thing came up, I connected it to somebody that plainly made it up; there is no factual basis. On the initial day John Idzik is known as general manager and he doesn't even know where his company is, we are trying to trade Darrelle? "This is all speculation want it is a foregone conclusion. I really do not believe it. With that, I'm perhaps not naive enough to know many people could be curiosity about a new player like Darrelle Revis." The Jets can not franchise the 27-year-old Revis next year due to a term in the agreement he renegotiated to get 36 months ago. He desires to be among the highest-paid people in the group and his current offer does not place him towards the top for his place. Revis has never said he desires to leave Ny. And the Jets have found the market for him mightn't produce the sort of compensation bundle in draft picks a including a first-rounder a' they think he's worth.
